iMail Device, 1999
In collaboration with Igor Pusenjak and Sarah Almeida.

The iMail is an email reading device that reexamines the experience of reading mail. We looked to traditional mail exchange, archiving, and reading to inform our design of the iMail which aims to involve the user in a physical experience of reading and storing mail, much like the experience of leafing through letters in a box. Opening one of the blue 'mailboxes' at the top of the device displays the contents of that email box on the screen. Email is browsed by rotating the wheel at the bottom of device, moved or by placing the respective card attached to the browsing wheel into a mailbox or the reader on the side of the device. The device-computer interaction is enabled through sensors, a Handy Board, and Lingo/Interactive C programming.
